So my brothers and I are surprising our dad with a trip to Morocco for his 60th and I've somehow become the unofficial travel planner which is terrifying because I'm usually terrible at this stuff. Dad's always talked about wanting to see the Sahara and ride a camel, so I know we need to include that, but he's also not super young anymore and I worry about him being comfortable with long drives and basic accommodations. I've been looking into different marrakech desert tours and trying to figure out which ones might work best for a small family group with someone who might need a bit more comfort than the average backpacker. The tricky part is we don't all have the same budget because my brothers are being weird about money, so I'm trying to find something nice enough for dad but not so fancy that they complain. Also dad takes medication that needs to be refrigerated, is that something tour companies usually accommodate if we ask ahead of time? I'm thinking a private tour might be better so we can go at our own pace and stop when he needs a break, but then the cost per person goes up. Anyone done this kind of thing with older parents and have tips on what to look for or avoid?
