I'm hoping to get some advice from people who have been through this because I'm probably going to be in this situation soon. I've got a 2017 Mitsubishi Pajero that I'm seriously considering, and I've already arranged to have a full inspection done on Friday. The car looks good overall and the seller has been really cooperative so far, but I want to be prepared for whatever the report comes back with. My question is, if the inspection finds something that's not a dealbreaker but still needs fixing, how do you have that conversation with the seller without it getting awkward or confrontational? Do you just show them the report and ask them to lower the price by whatever the repair costs, or do you approach it more gently? And what about if they disagree with the inspection findings? I don't want to end up in some heated argument over a car that I might still want to buy. I'm using a service called https://prepurchasecarinspection.ae/ that seems pretty reputable so I'm hoping the report will be detailed and professional enough that the seller will take it seriously. I'm just not naturally a confrontational person and the thought of having to negotiate based on things that are wrong with someone's car makes me a bit nervous. For those of you who have done this before, how did you handle it and did the seller usually accept the findings or did you have to walk away? Any tips would be really appreciated.
