I've been taking my 2014 Nissan Patrol to the same garage for years and they always ask me if I want a minor or major service, but I've never really known the difference. The minor is cheaper obviously, but I'm worried I'm missing something important by not springing for the major every time. The service advisor just says major includes "more checks and replacements" but won't give me a list. I've been trying to find a place that offers comprehensive major minor mussafah services with a clear checklist of what's included at each level so I can decide for myself what my car actually needs at 80k km. For those of you who understand this stuff, what are the key things that should be in a major service that aren't in a minor? Is it things like spark plugs, coolant flush, brake fluid, and air filters? And how often should a daily driver really need a major service versus just oil and filter changes? Trying to avoid being upsold without understanding what I'm paying for. Thanks for any clarification.
What actually gets done in a "major service" vs "minor service"?
