So I'm setting up a small greywater system for garden irrigation from our washing machine and bathroom sinks, and I thought about grabbing a 1000L cube instead of messing around with multiple barrels. I've seen a few listings for ibc water tanks for sale that look promising but I'm wondering if anyone here has run into algae problems when using these for greywater storage, especially during summer here. The translucent sides seem like they'd let in a ton of light even if I wrap them in something. Should I just bite the bullet and paint the outside or find a fully opaque version? Also curious if the standard bottom outlet works fine for gravity feeding drip lines or if I'll need to modify something. Really don't want to spend a bunch of time setting this up only to be cleaning green slime every other week. Any real world experience would be awesome.
Using an IBC for greywater collection, any issues with algae?
